Earlier this month, the County Legislature unanimously adopted – and Putnam Executive Kevin Byrne signed – a resolution approving a five-year memorandum of agreement with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Employment Association that covers the timeframe of Jan. 1, 2024, to Dec. 31, 2028.
The agreement was successfully negotiated by members of the administration, Sheriff Kevin McConville, and representatives of the PCSEA during meetings that took place throughout the summer.
“This contract is the result of good-faith negotiations and mutual respect,” said PCSEA President Ismael Matias. “It provides our members with the resources and support they need to perform their critical duties while maintaining fiscal responsibility for our community. I want to thank County Executive Byrne, Sheriff McConville, and the County Legislature for recognizing the hard work and dedication of the PCSEA members who serve Putnam County every day.”
