Mahopac VFW Post 5491 hosted Operation Ice Splash on Jan. 27, when brave individuals donated money in exchange for an icy dip into Lake Mahopac. The air was a cool 42 degrees and the water was a chilly 36 degrees, but that didn’t stop men, women and children from taking the plunge. The event raised funds for the organization that supports veterans, service members and their families.
