NEW YORK – Unbelievable.

Hollywood script writers might even think twice before writing something so outlandish.

But it happened.

Former Hudson Valley Renegades player George Lombard Jr. made his Major League debut with the New York Yankees last week and hit a home run in his second at-bat. He plays shortstop and is considered the top prospect in the organization. Lombard played for Hudson Valley in parts of the 2024 and 25 seasons, then began a meteoric rise through the organization.

But the story doesn’t end there.

On the same night he hit his dinger for the Yankees, his brother Jacob made his professional debut with the Low-Class A Marlins franchise. Jacob was just drafted two weeks ago and signed his professional contract.

Guess what? Jacob hit a home run in his debut as well.

In fact, the home runs hit by the brothers were the exact same launch angle and within a couple of miles per hour in exit velocity.

You can’t make this stuff up. Or script it.
