Applications for absentee ballots may be obtained from the Putnam County Board of Elections
during regular business hours, which are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
In addition, the office will remain open at 25 Old Route 6, Carmel, for absentee voting from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 26, 28 and 31, and Nov. 2; and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, Oct. 28 and Nov. 4.
Registered voters may cast their ballot during early voting at either the Board of Elections in Carmel, or at the North Highlands Firehouse, 504 Fishkill Road, Cold Spring. Early voting hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Oct. 28, 29 and 30; noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1; noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 3, 4 and 5.
If you cast a ballot during early voting, you are not eligible to vote on Election Day. The results from early voting will be reported after 9 p.m. on Election Day.
The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 7, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. For polling locations, a candidate list and other information, visit putnamboe.com.
