Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. For polling locations, and other information, visit boe.putnamcountyny.gov.
For the Office of Putnam County Sheriff, Acting Sheriff Brian Hess, a Republican, is being challenged by independent Lawrence Burke.
For Putnam County Legislature District 5, which represents Carmel, Democrat Brett Yarris is running against Republican Jake D’Angelo.
For county legislator in District 6, which represents Brewster, Republican Tommy Regan is running against Democrat Thomas Sprague.
For county legislator in District 9, which represents Mahopac, incumbent Republican Erin Crowley is being challenged by Democrat Lenny Harrington.
In Carmel, Town Supervisor Michael Cazzari, a Republican, is being challenged by Democrat Jean Hopper.
Carmel Town Board members Michale Lugo and Robert Schanil Jr., both Republicans, have competition from Democrat Brett Wieland.
In Kent, Republican Town Supervisor Jaime McGlasson is being challenged by Democrat Alex Sewell.
On the Town Board, incumbents Anne Campbell, a Democrat, and Jorma Tompuri, a Republican, are seeking re-election, while Democrat Becca Niitzel and Republican Eileen Olifiers are also hoping for a seat.
Also on the ballot in Kent is a proposal to increase the town’s contribution to the Kent Public Library by $81,809.
In Patterson, Republican incumbent Town Councilmembers Joseph Esposito and Mary Smith are being challenged by Democrats Gwen Dougherty and Stacy Dumont.
There are no contested races in Southeast. However, there will be a proposition seeking approval for the town to contribute $505,000 to the Brewster Public Library budget.
In Putnam Valley, Republican Town Supervisor Jaqueline Annabi is being challenged by Democrat Alison Jolicoeur.
Republican town board members Stacey Tompkins and Chrisitan Russo are being challenged by Democrat C.J. Brooks.
There are no contested races in Brewster, Philipstown, or Cold Spring.
