Football Sectional Brackets Announced

Are you ready for some playoff football?

High school football, that is.

Section 1 has announced its tournament bracket pairings in five different classes based on school enrollment sizes. Quarterfinal games in all class sizes were scheduled to kick off last weekend and conclude with the championship games on the weekend of Nov. 13 and 14 at North Rockland High School.

There were no Putnam County schools in Class AA.

In Class A, both Carmel and Mahopac were scheduled to open on the road against Harrison and Clarkstown South, respectively.

Class B had representation from Putnam Valley, but the Tigers were scheduled to open at No. 1 Pelham.

There were also no Putnam County schools in the Class C tournament.

And in tiny class D, Haldane goes straight to the championship game Nov. 13 against top-seeded Tuckahoe.
