High School Sports Roundup

PUTNAM VALLEY – Maggie Caputo, Kate Mulqueen, Erin Moynihan, and Katelyn Flanagan drove in three runs each as the Putnam Valley High School softball team hammered North Salem, 23-4. The game was called after five innings due to the mercy rule.

Maddy Mauri had two RBI for the Tigers. Bella Soto and Mia Mazzullo had their first varsity hit and RBI, respectively. Mulqueen notched her 200th career strikeout in the win.

PV later lost to crosstown rival Haldane, 16-3, in another game that was shortened by the mercy rule.

For the Blue Devils, Lainey Donaghy had a hit in all three of her at-bats while teammates Sydney Merriman, Anya Mercurio, and Mackenzie Tobin all had a hit to back the winning pitching of Allegra Clementson.

Carmel 4, Walter Panas 1 – Olivia Frick was the winning pitcher and allowed only four hits. She also had a hit herself and drove in one run. Alyssa Livulpi picked up a couple of hits.

Brewster 6, Horace Greeley 5 – Carly Krebs Had two hits and scored the winning run for the Bears. Cassie Fox earned the win on the mound. Brewster also beat Fox Lane, 2-0.

Boys Lacrosse

BREWSTER – What a week for Luke Cunningham. He scored six goals and four assists in a 16-9 win over Edgemont. That was on top of the five goals he scored as the Bears doubled up Arlington, 14-7.

Frankie Tumminello and A.J. Accurso both had a hat trick for the Bears in the respective games.

Mahopac 10, Suffern 8 – Liam Jones scored three times for ’Pac, and teammates Patrick Stirpe,  Landon Saracco, and Gavin Okeefe all tallied twice each.

Carmel 16, Valhalla 13 – Braden Ross netted four goals for the winners and David Mohoskey and Colin Sullivan had three scores apiece. Teammate Ray Mahoskey registered two goals.

Girls Lacrosse

MAHOPAC – Gianna Cirella, Gianna DeVito, and Ashley Koch all had a hat trick for Mahopac High School as they clobbered Clarkstown North, 13-1. Amanda Carey needed to make just two saves to secure the victory.

Softball

MAHOPAC – Putnam County rivals Mahopac and Carmel high schools met on the softball field and the Wolfpack came away victorious as bragging rights returned to Mahopac, 3-2.

Sam Ereditario stroked three hits for the winners and also stole a base. Teammate Alenah Gomes had two hits. Ellie Gerleit was the winning pitcher. Alyssa Livulpi and Gabriella Azzaro each drove in a run for Carmel.
