The Lake Mahopac Rotary Club will present its 12th annual Rock & Roll Spectacular on May 8 at 7 p.m., at the Mahopac High School auditorium.
This year’s fundraising event features legendary 1960s hitmakers The Happenings and The Vogues, joined on stage by crowd favorite Vinnie Medugno, for an unforgettable night of timeless music.
With their signature smooth harmonies and feel-good pop sound, The Happenings became one of the most beloved vocal groups of the 1960s. Best known for their chart-topping hits “See You in September” and “I Got Rhythm,” the group helped define the sunshine pop era, bringing a fresh and vibrant energy to classic songs.
Hailing from Turtle Creek, Penn., The Vogues rose to the top of the Billboard charts and became one of the most recognizable vocal groups of their time. Their unmistakable harmonies produced a string of timeless hits including “You’re the One,” “Five O’Clock World,” “Turn Around, Look at Me,” and “My Special Angel.”
Adding to the night’s excitement is Medugno, a dynamic entertainer whose voice captures the spirit of classic American pop. A Staten Island native, Medugno is known for his high-energy performances and passion for the hits of the 50s, 60s, and 70s. He is also the host of the popular “Vinnie Medugno Show” on 77 WABC Radio, where he shares his love of timeless music with listeners nationwide.
Tickets are $40 in advance and available at Putnam Music Center, Beacon Bank, Arthur Avenue Deli, d’Berto Pizzeria, and Route 6 Deli, as well as at www.eventbrite.com.
