Middletown, USA. It’s anywhere, everywhere.

The Brewster Theater Company invites the public to spend time with the characters of its own “Middletown” – a comedy/drama written by Will Eno, where everyday life is centered upon an intriguing place of laughter, life, entertaining people, and ordinary citizens. Experience familiarity and endless surprises as you journey through the play from the local library to outer space.

“Middletown” will be performed by at the Theater at Drew Methodist Church, 28 Gleneida Ave., Carmel, at 7:30 p.m. April 24 and 25, May 1 and 2, and May 8 and 9; as well as 2 p.m. April 26 and May 3.

Tickets are $28 and available at www.brewstertheater.org, and at the door – although reservations are encouraged.

“‘Middletown’ presents us with slices of ourselves that we do not choose to recognize until days, months, or even years later,” said Bob Dumont of Patterson, the show’s director, who chose this quietly-known play for the complexity it reveals of everyday life.

The cast and crew includes Stephanie Straface and Debbie Poe of Carmel, Brian Dallas Field and Carolyn and Kevin McCarthy of Brewster, Rose Ann Martin of Lake Carmel, Austin Morgan of Tarrytown, Nick Byrne of Valhalla, Barry Schilmeister of Millwood, Bruce Mandia of Wilton, Elizabeth Darcy of Somers, and Jeff Lawrence of Yorktown.

The show is produced by Ben Kistinger and stage managed by Bill Bernhey, both of Carmel. It is presented through special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
