The Town of Southeast Cultural Arts Coalition is forming a volunteer committee help bring its mission to restore the historic Old Town Hall theater in Brewster to fruition.
The coalition is considering making a proposal to the Town of Southeast to take ownership of the 1896 building, and is looking for people who have experience with fundraising and grant writing, restoration and building management, and/or knowledge on how to run a performing arts venue.
“This will allow us to provide even more transformative and inspiring arts experiences,” wrote the coalition in a notice to the community. “We recognize the need to increase our organization’s capacity and fundraising capabilities to properly manage this endeavor.”
The coalition invites anyone interested in the restoration of Old Town Hall to attend an informational meeting July 14 at 7 p.m., at Studio Around the Corner, 67 Main St., where the group will review a building condition reports, outline its vision for transforming the space into a vibrant community cultural arts center, and discuss what is needed to accomplish its goals.
Anyone who may just be curious to hear what is planned is also welcome to attend.
To RSVP, email info@CulturalArtsCo.com.
